How to Delete a Tweet on Twitter: Deleting a Tweet

There may come a time when you tweet something too early or you didn’t want to actually post the tweet. You also may want to go through your tweets to thin out your timeline. Whatever the reason is, you are able to delete any tweets that you post. It’s a simple and easy process and you can delete as many tweets as you please.

1) Go through your Twitter newsfeed or your profile timeline to find your tweets. Your profile is probably the easiest way. So, to get to your profile, click on your name which is at the left side of the main Twitter page. You can also click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen. A drop down list will appear and then you can click ‘view profile’ at the top.

2) Once you’re on your profile, scroll through the tweets and find the one you want to delete. When you find a tweet you wish to delete, click on the button that looks like three dots in a row at the bottom of the tweet.

3) After that, a drop down list of options will appear. At the bottom of that list, you will see an option that says ‘delete tweet.’ That’s where you need to click.

4) A window will appear on the screen asking you if you’re sure of your decision. If you are, click the blue ‘delete’ button at the bottom right corner of the window. If you changed your mind, you can just press ‘cancel’ which is to the left of ‘delete.’

In an instant, your tweet will be deleted from your profile and other people’s (if they retweeted or favorited it). No one will be able to view the tweet again, not even you. Repeat these steps for as many tweets as you want.
