Percentage Change Formula in Excel
Use of percentage is quite common in our day to day professional activities and keeping this fact in consideration, MS Excel provides an excellent support to this feature.
To have a better understanding of this feature, follow the example below:
A Sugar Mill is processing 1000 matric ton of sugar cane on weekly basis. The day wise data provided by the processing department is as follows:
Now, to calculate the percentage of daily achieved target with regards to actual Daily assigned target, type the following code in cell E2
To convert the output to percentage format, click on Percentage Style under the Number group in Home tab.
This will convert the results into percentage format.
The calculated percentage shows 85% production as of assigned daily target.
Now, drag and apply the formula from Cell E3 to E6
This will apply the formula to selected cells.
In stage 2, we will calculate the overall achievement on daily basis. For this, apply following formula on Cell F2
To convert the output to percentage format, click on Percentage Style under the Number group in Home tab.
This will convert the results into percentage format.

Now, drag and apply the formula from Cell E3 to E6
This will apply the formula to selected cells.
