Auto Recover in Excel

Like all MS Office products, MS Excel has a built-in Auto Recover option available that makes it automatically make a recoverable copy of the workbook(s). By default, the time value set for auto save feature is 10 minutes, however, if you want to make this process quicker, reduce the time to 3 minutes.

To set the Auto Recover time from default 10 minutes to 3 minutes, follow the steps below:

1. Click on File Menu and select Options from the Menu.

2. Select the Save section from the left pane of Excel Options window.

3. On the right pane, under the Save workbooks section, set the value to 3 minutes against Save Auto Recover information after every ( 10 ) minutes.
