Deployment technicians commonly use this term to describe the assembly of computer hardware within a system, computer cabinet, or rack.
To “Rack and Stack” means to configure the assembly in an effective way.
The term was borrowed from the military were it was meant to mean prioritize.
In the computer industry when a technicians are hired to “Rack and Stack” they commission and decommission servers, install and build new servers, make full use of the power available to a server, as well as balance the cooling and weight distribution in the data-centers where the servers are located.
