CWNP CWNE Certification

The Certified Wireless Network Expert® (CWNE) credential is the final and highest level of the CWNP career certifications program. By successfully achieving the CWNE status a candidate would have demonstrated having the most advanced skills available in the world pertaining to the enterprise Wi-Fi market.


The CWNE certification guarantees that a candidate has mastered all the relevant skills required to successfully administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, and design WLAN systems of all sorts.

The CWNE certification covers all the major areas of expertise related to WLANs and requires the candidates to have command over and knowledge about protocol analysis, wireless security, intrusion detection and deterrence, network performance, Quality of Services analysis, spectrum analysis and management, and advanced WLAN systems design.

CWNE Requirements

The CWNE exam is the fourth and final exam of the CWNP certification process. The preceding qualifications include CWTS, CWNA and CWSP which lead to the CWNE certification. The CWNE certification adds to a certified candidate’s abilities, network and protocol analysis skills in addition to the previously acquired wireless fundamentals, administration and security related skills and knowledge.

The pre requisites of the CWNE certification include passing the PW0-100/PW0-104, PW0-200/PW0-204 and PW0-300 exams and provide proof of minimum 2 years of professional practical experience in working full-time with enterprise wireless networks. The work experience must be documented and verifiable as well as confirmed by three independent persons in writing. Only after the experience of a candidate has been verified will the candidate’s application for CWNE be approved and the exam voucher issued.


The CWNE is currently a lifetime qualification. The prominence of the CWNE certification can be judged by the fact that there are currently only 84 elite individuals in the world, who have earned the prestigious CWNE certification.

CWNE Certification Details

To achieve the Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) certification, the candidates has to clear the rigorous exam PW0-300. The exams for the CWNE can be attempted at all Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide and the cost for the exam is $395. The exam duration is three hours (180 minutes) and consists of 70 multiple choice/multiple answer type questions all based on real world scenarios. Passing score of the CWNE exam is 75 percent. The exam is available in the English language version.

During the exam the candidates don’t have the option to mark a question and then return to that question later on, also candidates cannot review or reattempt any previously answered question in the exam.

Familiarity with the CWNP exam terminology is recommended for the candidates before taking the CWDA and the CWDP exams. The CWNP terminologies are also common to the CWTS, CWNA, CWSP, and CWNE exams.
