Comcast business login

The Comcast Business Wireless Gateway provides private Wi-Fi network and a Business IP Gateway to its users. It utilizes the 802.11b/g/n standards with four Gigabit Ethernet Ports.

The WPA, WEP and WPA 2 are some of the encryption standards used by the router. It supports XFINITY Wi-Fi hotspot and private Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz networks.

Logging in to the Comcast business wireless gateway

  • The first procedure is to type in the link http://10.1.10.1 in the URL field of your web browser and hit the ‘Enter’ button.
  • A new window will appear prompting you to enter your login credentials. You will use ‘cusadmin’ as the default username and ‘highspeed’ as your default password.
  • Once you log in to your router’s interface, navigate to ‘Connection,’ then on the left side of the page you will select the ‘Wi-Fi’ option.
  • Next, click on ‘Edit’ to access the 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency band. There are other configurations you can perform while on the user interface according to your preferences.

You can select the 802.11 g/n or the 802.11b/g/n standards. The mixed network mode becomes unavailable when you choose the TKIP authentication. There are a variety of security modes you can choose from, and the recommended ones are always the WPA/WPA 2-PSK.

There are different requirements for the network password depending on the Security mode selected. There is always a label underneath the Comcast Business Gateway that indicates the factory-set password value. If you decide to choose the manual channel, a channel from one to eleven can be selected. Note that 1, 6 and 11 are the only non-overlapping channels.

What to do if the name of your wireless network disappeared

You may experience a problem where your Wi-Fi network name becomes unavailable all of a sudden. The quickest fix is to force a connection between your PC and router even if the broadcast is not satisfied.

You will open your Control Panel and navigate to ‘Network and Internet,’ ‘Network and Sharing,’ then ‘Manage Wireless Networks.’ Right click on the icon of your wireless network if it is listed and then select the option of “Connect even if the network is not broadcasting.”

If the wireless network does not appear, then you will click the ‘Add’ button and then choose the option of “Manually connect to a wireless network.” You will then fill in your wireless information.

For Mac users, you can “force-join” a disappeared SSID via the Mac’s Airport Utility. Type in the network name and password after selecting to join ‘other.’ The Comcast Business Gateway has always been active and guarantees higher performance in executing multiple functions.
