Clear Rules in Excel
Clearing a conditional formatting rule is as similar as applying formatting. To clear a conditional formatting rule, follow the steps below.
1. Select the range A1:A10.
2. On the Home tab, click Conditional Formatting > Clear Rules > Clear Rules from Selected Cells. As shown in the figure below
Top/Bottom Rules
To apply conditional formatting for cells that have above average values, follow the steps below.
1. Select the range A1:A10.
2. On the Home tab, click Conditional Formatting > Top/Bottom Rules > Above Average. As shown in the figure below.
3. Select a desired formatting style from the combo list.
4. Click OK.
MS Excel will determine the average (53.1) and formats all the cells that are above this average.
you can also apply conditional formatting for the top 10 items, the top 10%, etc.
